Offline on the truck: Sqyre Team keeps the queue, GPS, and a true late text

Basements kill signal. Team queues clock, photos, and notes. GPS still explains a late truck on Hub so the text can be true.
The simple idea
Field service happens in Faraday cages with names like “mechanical room.” If the app only works on cafe Wi-Fi, it is not a field app.
Sqyre Team queues clock punches, photos, notes, and a refused reschedule without stalling the rest of the day. GPS still feeds live tracking so Hub can send a late text that matches the pin.
If you had to explain it to a tech, you would say this. Do the work in Team even when the bar is empty. The phone will catch up. Do not write the day in a notebook “just in case.”
A normal weekday
A restoration tech is in a crawlspace for forty minutes. Clock is already running from the widget. Photos wait in the queue. When he climbs out, Team syncs. Hub already saw him go off the route because GPS had him at the house.
The next customer texts “are you close?” Jason or the office sends an ETA from the map. Not “five minutes” from hope.
The queue is a product
Release notes are not poetry. “A refused Move to today no longer jams the offline queue” is a scar. Someone lost punches because one rejected action blocked the pipe. Team now treats that as a solved wound.
Clock-out finishes even if the first save fails. Photos, clock, assign, and voice on a job are faster because waiting on a spinner in a driveway is how techs go back to camera roll.
GPS is how you tell the truth
People forgive a late truck when the text is true. They do not forgive silence. Hub plus Team GPS is how the office knows the pin without calling the tech during a soldering job.

What people get wrong
They turn off location to “save battery” and then ask why ETAs are fiction. Battery is cheaper than a one star review about a ghost truck.
They also rebuild the day in iMessage when the queue feels slow. Then you have two days. Let the queue drain. If it is stuck, that is a bug to report, not a reason to invent a parallel system.
If you are training someone this week
Walk them into a basement. Have them take a photo in Team. Walk out. Watch it appear on the job.
The only sentence they are allowed to send when they are late is a time the map can defend. If they cannot see the map, they ask Hub. They do not invent.
How the queue should drain
Clock, photos, notes, voice, assign. Fast on a job because a spinner is how camera roll wins. A refused move-to-today must not block later items. Clock-out must finish if the first save fails.
GPS is for arrivals and the office map. Hub uses it to tell the truth. Jason uses it only if the truth exists. Five minutes from hope is how you earn a one star about lying.
Battery complaints are real. So are ghost trucks. Keep location on for the work day. Charge in the van. Do not solve a review problem by blinding the map.
A week of weak signal
Monday take a photo in a basement and watch it land. Tuesday clock out on a rural road. Wednesday send a late text from Hub that matches the pin. Thursday confirm a refused reschedule did not stall Friday’s punches. Friday throw away the paper backup if the queue held.
If the queue did not hold, that is a bug. Report it. Do not quietly return to notebooks. Notebooks do not notify the next customer.
ETA language
The only late sentence: we are at this pin, we will be there at this time. If you cannot see the pin, ask Hub. If Hub cannot see the pin, say you do not know yet. Unknown is better than five minutes.
Basements, rural, steel buildings
These are the three Faraday cages. Train techs to expect the queue. If they panic every time the bar dies, they will go back to paper. Show them a successful drain once. Confidence is a photo that appears after they climb the stairs.
Battery
A GPS day plus photos plus a scan will eat a battery. Car chargers are a tool, like a drill. A tech who refuses a charger is choosing a dead phone at 2pm. Make chargers standard issue.
Privacy pushback
“I do not want to be tracked.” Then they do not want a truck job that promises ETAs. Say that kindly. The map is the product for the customer waiting at home. You can still set hours when tracking is on. You cannot sell live ETAs with location off.
Late texts
Write two: “We are running 25 minutes behind, still coming,” and “We will not make the window, here is tomorrow.” GPS chooses which one is true. Hope chooses neither.
Queue hygiene
If a tech has 40 queued items, they have not had signal all day or they are not opening the app. Either way, Hub should notice a silent truck. A silent truck is a support issue or a skipped day.
Testing without harming a customer
Use the shop as the house. Clock, photo, airplane mode, photo, airplane off, watch sync. Do this on day one of a hire. Do not discover queue behavior on a paying basement.
When to call instead of text
If the map says you will miss a medical or elderly window, call. Texts are for ordinary late. Calls are for human windows. Hub makes the call a record.

A 14-day weak-signal drill
Monday: photo in a basement, watch it land. Tuesday: clock out on a rural road. Wednesday: late text from Hub that matches the pin. Thursday: refused reschedule did not stall Friday’s punches. Friday: throw away the paper backup if the queue held. Week two: charger in every van, location on for the work day, one call for a human window, zero five-minute lies.

The numbers on one job
A missed quote on the owner phone is not a small miss. It is a house that hired the shop that answered. Hub and Team exist so the yes, the clock, and the photo happen on the stop, not tonight on the couch.

Where Sqyre holds the work
Sqyre Hub is the owner app. Sqyre Team is the crew app. Jason repeats the shop sentence. Scheduling, payments, and the mobile app page are the web map of the same system.
Questions people ask
faq
- Does Team work in a basement? — Yes. Queue the work. Sync when you have air.
- Will GPS drain the battery? — Location is for arrivals, ETAs, and the office map. It is the product, not a spy toy.
- Can Jason send the ETA? — He can send what the map knows. He should not guess.
- What jammed the queue before? — A refused move-to-today could stall later items. That is fixed because it burned real days.
- Does Hub need signal too? — The owner on a roof still gets the board when the phone has a network. The truck cannot wait for that.
Before Friday
- Install the right app on the right phone.
- Run one real stop all the way to a photo or a payment.
- Delete the group text that used to be the board.
